My name is Laurie.
In one corner, I spend far too much time thinking about the weird ways words can work, the wild shapes narratives can take, and how even the most unruly of sentences can (eventually) be coaxed into behaving. In the other corner, I craft, revise, and optimize social copy for global communications, studying what resonates with audiences and how marketing continues to evolve with technology.
Here, I try to bring both together to help empower the inherently rebellious act of writing.
I am a writer, editor, and researcher with more than a decade of experience in the world of publishing. I hold an MA in Writing, Literature, & Publishing from Emerson College, and my work has featured in Globe Magazine for The Boston Globe and Page Turner Magazine, recognized for distinguished style and analysis. You can most likely find me getting excited about women’s literature (and what that even means), overanalyzing detective fiction, playing with character tropes, and falling down rabbit holes of literary history, uncovering even more nontraditional narratives to chew on.
At the end of the day, I think words are wonderful, so I hope to be an all-around word wonder (woman), storytelling across time and space.
